A new item! This is a long handled version of the spearhead spade and has been requested by some of our taller members. A long handle makes for a longer lever, so stubborn ground gives way with less effort. You work upright, instead of folded at the waist. The original spade was developed by an 85 year old with two artificial knees and two artificial hips who wanted to find an easier way to dig and cultivate his garden. The handle is steel-reinforced fiberglass, built to be leaned on. Older customers say bending is the hardest part of digging, but with this spade, stand close, keep the blade vertical , press with your body weight, and lift half loads with a straight back and bent knees. Shovel comes with two cushioned grips in the handle. Only in yellow.
