President’s Message

Welcome Members!

As I begin my second year as your president, I’d like to reflect on our accomplishments this past year. We sponsored our first Wine and Cheese social in September and we will do the same this year. We significantly enhanced our social media and web presence and moved to using Google Groups as a way of communicating across The Club.

Our monthly programs were well-received; our plant sale was another great success as were our floral design workshops, field trips, Books in Bloom and Garden Therapy. We collaborated with The Friends of the Sharon Library on a community-wide event and we welcomed many new members, including family memberships.  All of this is possible only with you, our members, involvement. You make the difference!

This leads me to remind you of my continuing goal of OPPORTUNITY. Get involved and do what you enjoy!  True, your membership requires your participation but you get to choose the committee; meet new friends, learn something new and keep us vibrant and active into the FUTURE.  Over the next few months, we will reach out for volunteers on a number of important committees.  Please contact me if you have a specific interest. 

Most of you know that I’ve served as President last year without a Vice President.  We have an urgent need to fill this role in order to continue the club and be a member of the Massachusetts Garden Club Federation.  The Board has streamlined the responsibilities of that role to share with you all.  Watch for that revision soon!

I have enjoyed working with all of you and look forward to this coming year.  Here’s to our FUTURE!
