Beech Tree Park Renovation

A community project is currently led by The Friends Of Beech Tree Park, Sharon Garden Club, and the Rotary Club Of Sharon to restore this area of natural beauty on the shores of Lake Massapoag.

In addition, funds are needed to continue the Summer Concert Series, which are free to the public and require community support

We need to remove invasive weeds from the wetland areas of this Park.

Beech Leaf Disease (BLD) is causing the leaves of these beautiful trees decay. We need to continue to treat these trees to prevent further damage

Landscape features, such as the Labyrinth need to be restored. New gravel is needed in the Japanese Garden

New plantings in the beds and restoration of the lawn will restore the beauty to this Park

History

In 2001, a group of Sharon Residents formed the Beech Tree Park Committee and submitted a proposal to the Town for a park on a parcel of land on the corner on Beach Street and Pond Street.

Over the next few years, landscape designs were submitted and approved by the Town.  Fundraising enabled the Committee to install the Labyrinth and pathways.  By 2005, the bridge connecting the Park to the boat launch area was completed, water lines to the Park were installed and the landscaping was completed.  The Park was dedicated in 2006.
